3 Cheap & Easy Ways to Boost Home Value
When selling your house, the upgrades that offer the most value are usually the ones that are fast, easy, and inexpensive. These are the three best ways to do it.
There are three easy and inexpensive ways to improve your home’s value that I want to share with you today:
- Clear out the clutter. This is one of the hardest and most important aspects of getting a home ready for sale. It can be time-consuming, as well. You want to declutter to make your home look clean, orderly, and spacious. Make sure you clear all kitchen and bathroom countertops and pack up seasonal clothes. This can have a huge potential payoff when buyers come through.
- Maximize the lighting in your home. Taking down old drapes, cleaning your windows, replacing old light fixtures or lamps, and increasing the wattage of your light bulbs can make a huge difference. When you show the house, make sure all the lights are on and the blinds are open.
- Don’t over-upgrade. This is one of the biggest mistakes home sellers make. Remember, quick fixes and touch-ups always pay off better than mammoth makeovers. Adding a fresh coat of paint, new doorknobs, replacing rusty light fixtures, making sure closet doors are on the tracks, and fixing a leaky faucet are all simple and inexpensive ways to give your home an instant facelift.
If you have any more questions about increasing your home’s value or you’re simply curious about your home’s current value, just give me a call or send me an email. I look forward to hearing from you!
